Nina Tiari NYFW Spring 2018 Collection

Nina Tiari moved from San Francisco to NYC in 2009 to study fashion design at Parsons, New School

for Design, and later studied Art History at New York University. She continued her analysis of fashion

by assisting reputable stylists, Natasha Royt and B Akerlund, with clients such as Madonna, Vogue

and WSJ. In February of 2017, Nina debuted her first collection for NYFW AW17, The Shows at

Skylight Clarkson Square, inspired by the determination and strength of a woman.

Recently, Lady Gaga has been photographed wearing Nina Tiari’s namesake debut collection. THE

SS18 COLLECTION was inspired by Palm Springs, and the modern day Slim Aarons muse. While

maintaining attention to tailoring and separates, the Spring Summer 2018 collection fuses the

whimsey of Palm Springs with the playful and sophisticated New York City woman. With all the

current turmoil we are facing today, Nina wanted to bring a smile onto faces again with fashion.

Latest Magazine interviewed Nina Tiari on her latest Spring and Summer collection 2018.

Latest Magazine: What is the inspiration behind the Nina Tiari 2018 spring collection?

Nina Tiari: For the SS18 Collection I was inspired by 1950's Palm Springs glamour and the

Slim Aarons muse, I wanted to create a collection for what could be the modern day Slim

Aarons muse.

Latest Magazine: Can you describe us the most dominant spring summer 2018 fashion trends?

Nina Tiari: As far as trends in general, I see 2 that stand out prominently; one being the

sportswear/oversized athleisure logomania cult, and the other being decorative, feminine,

romantic and whimsical.

Latest Magazine: What are the color trends for 2018? Could you give us the leaders in the

spring/summer 2018 fashion color palette?

Nina Tiari: Pink is here to stay! I think for SS18, moreso than color, prints were having a fun

moment. Relationships with color can always be made interesting, and they don't necessarily

have as traditional of a role as they used to; people can wear bordeaux with powder blue

accents and throw on white boots in the spring, and wear a soft lavender wool coat in the

winter. I think fashion rules are meant to be broken.

Latest Magazine: Is there a Must-have fashion item for spring/summer 2018?

Nina Tiari: I think feathers were a delicate and fun accent for SS18, as well as lace and

sequins. I love our cute crop top with a feather hem, its easy to dress up or down.

Latest Magazine: According to the 2018 fashion forecast which would be the spring/summer

essentials for a night out?

Nina Tiari: For a night out, I love the idea of a jumpsuit, no matter the occasion you can have a

great time and look super chic. I did a black silk taffeta jumpsuit embellished with Swarovski

crystals that is such a fun piece to wear on a night out!

Latest Magazine: Which are the so-hot-right-now accessories to complete our 2018 spring/summer

looks?

Nina Tiari: A cute clutch in a fun shape or exotic skin is a showstopper to any outfit. I did a

fun collaboration with Gelareh Mizrahi for 2 SS18 exotic bags that are so fun; one is a pink

flamingo clutch with optional strap, and the other is a pineapple!

Latest Magazine: Can you give us your advice about the shoes which pair perfectly with the Nina

Tiari 2018 spring/summer collection?

Nina Tiari: Shoes are such an important part of any look; it can either allow you to go from

day to night, work to party, or ruin your day! I'm a big fan of a stacked heel, whether in a

bootie, a mule, pump or a sandal, a stacked heel gives you support. However if you are going

from car to a comfortable seat or venue, you can be as daring as you'd like!
