The Met Gala 2018 red carpet was all about commemoration of religion,
rites and rituals. ‘Hevanly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination’
assembled the liturgical characters of the Bible and Christianity on the
steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Indubitably, the mummers of
excitement among most guests were about the historical Vatican treasures
which left Rome for the first time on the requests of fashion’s Pope Anna
Wintour and Patriarch of Fashion Andrew Bolton. Inside the biggest party
of the year, the Catholic motive was conspicuously curated with
sumptuousness of archive, vintage pieces of legendary designers and
aura built by the museums visionaries.
The red carpet was bounded with enchanted spells of customary art work
that bowed to sparkles, beads, pearls, and holy crosses. There was a certain
lack of colour which boasted both the theme and the juxtaposition between
minimalism and extravagance. While some celebrities opted for minute and
heavy embellishments others steered clear in smooth and elegant pieces, a
balance between virtues and vices. Overall, it was a night of spiritual
perspective, celestial beauty and heavenly headdresses.
The Minimalistic
The extravagant
