While everyone tends to escape the city during the months of July and August, some of us still have to stay to work. With everyone gone, you might be wondering what to do and where to go to enjoy your weekends. We have put together a little selection of events you won’t want to miss during the hot days coming.
Whether it’s music, cinema, market events or parties, there will be something for everyone.
Let’s start this selection with festivals. They are a must for summer weekends. The perfect occasion to meet with friends, enjoy good music and have some drinks. Whether it’s music, art or food festivals, they give you the occasion to relax while wandering around various stands.
INTERNATIONAL MOJITO FESTIVAL (24-26 August): For 6€ you can acquire a
pass (HERE) that will give you 30% off on mojitos in every place that takes part in it, for the whole weekend. A great excuse to enjoy the sun with a good drink and a bunch of friends.
URBAN GIANTS GRAFFITI FESTIVAL (13-15 July): In Via Concordia, Trezzano sul
Naviglio. With live music as well as live painting, graffitis and dance. Find out more HERE
MILANO SUMMER FESTIVAL (19th of June- 27th of July): In San Siro, a serie of
concerts will take place this summer. With music ranging from EDM to heavy metal, the line up
this year will include Martin Garrix, Iron Maiden and Marilyn Manson. Infos HERE
ESTATE SFORZESCA 2018 (8th of June- 26th of August): In the inner courtyard of
Castello Sforzesco. Each day features a different show (including theatre stagings, concerts, dance
performances) starting from 8pm. Tickets can be purchased from 5.30pm to 8pm. It also includes
food stands. The Castle stays open for the night (www.milanocastello.it).
Street markets are always a must in European cities. Wander around the stalls, get mesmerized by
the smell of fruits and flowers, be amazed at vintage furniture.
MERCATO IN BELLEZZA (Every thursday of July from 15:30): In Arci Bellezza in via
Bellezza 16/A. Find vegetables, and food in general, in this typical street market.
FIERA DI SINIGAGLIA STREET MARKET (Every saturday and sunday from 8am to 6pm): In Ripa di Porta Ticinese, Fiera di Sinigaglia is one of the only flea markets of Milan. Find

NAVIGLIO GRANDE ANTIQUE MARKET (Every last sunday of the month): At Naviglio Grande, M2 Porta Genova, a great market for collectors and antique lovers.
CASCINA CUCCAGNA (Every monday, from 3.30pm to 8pm): In via Cuccagna, corner of
via Muratori. A farmers’ food market taking place in a 17th century farmhouse.
For all movie lovers out there, it’s not because it’s summer that you have to stop going to
the cinema. Here are the best offers on inside cinemas, as well as the outdoor cinema events of this
summer.
CINEMADAYS (9-15 July): In various Milanese cinemas, you can buy tickets for all movies
for 3 euros (except for special events and 3D movies). Find out more HERE
OPEN AIR CINEMAS (4th of June-12th of September): At the Royal Palace courtyard,
the Tre Torre square at City Life (from 7 June), the Wisteria cloister of the UmanitAria in Via Santa
Barbara (from 13 June). Entry costs €7.50 with various concessions, find more info HERE
We can not make a list of events in Italy without talking about aperitivos. Summer is
the perfect season for a spritz at sunset hour.
APERITIVO AT PIAZZA AFFARI (6th and 13th of July, from 17:30): Rinascimento
Milano organizes those street aperitivos with Dude Club and MMT. Enjoy the music, the people and
the food!
APERITIVO ON TORRE BRANCA (Every tuesday until the 19th of September): In
Parco Sampione, organized by Just Cavalli. Make the most of the skyline view this tower has to offer
while enjoying an aperitivo and a sunset. For 10 euros, the ticket includes the drink, the food and
