Gabriele Colangelo’s spring-summer 2020 collection was full of references to technology, seen in terms of technical skills and in-depth research of the materials that go to compose the dress.

Speaking of research and artistic inspiration, from which his minimal inclination certainly shines through, it is interesting to experiment with shapes and dimensions, such as geometric-cut pantsuits that give more three-dimensionality.

The inspiration for this collection comes from a particular photographic printing process called lumen, through which pictures are developed exposing them to sunlight. This process has influenced the color palette of the collection, consisting mainly of “distorted” tones, so defined by the designer himself; ombré dyes, lavender shades, metallic grey and beige.

To further produce that distorted effect, there were also the materials: jacquard fabrics with elastic details, or the cut strips of leather, which are then woven and applied to Cady tunics.
