“As all good things must come to an end, after 20 wonderful years, Colette should be closing its
doors on December 20 of this year,” reported the infamous Parisian boutique. In the past week we
were excited to have heard that Colette was collaborating with H&M in Fall and now the
prestigious boutique is giving the news of their closure.
Saying that nothing will change until the last day, the boutique gave signals that they are negotiating
with Saint Laurent to hand over their iconic building. From homeware to ready-to- wear Colette was
famous for merging haute couture and street-wear in one shopping spot. Being more than just a
boutique Colette also housed many events in its 20 years. Known as Paris’ fashion destination, the
news of the boutique’s shutdown shocked fashion lovers.
Founder Colette Roussaux wanted to take time off, and the boutique said that “Colette cannot exist
without Colette,” which resulted in one of the most surprising fashion news of this season.
