In the past few days Lanvin revealed that Creative Director Bouchra Jarrar had parted her ways with the brand. After just four days, the house gave the news of the appointment of a new Creative Director, Olivier Lapidus. With this change, Lanvin stated that they want to take a new approach within the brand. If you aren’t familiar with the name, Olivier Lapidus is the son of Ted Lapidus who was famous for designing Beatles’ clothes. The quick appointment of a new creative director is giving signals of major changes in Lanvin.

The 21st Century has made fashion more than just clothes but it an experience and a lifestyle. Lanvin wanted to pursue this path and the change is thought to be because of this. Olivier Lapidus is expected to give importance to the luxury experience and take Lanvin on a new route. Previously being Balmain’s Creative Director, Lapidus had taken time off to focus on his own fashion house, Maison Lapidus but yesterday it was revealed that he was taken on board at Lanvin.

Not only changing its creative director, Lanvin is also reforming their headquarters and moving to the origin of the brand, Jeanne Lanvin’s atelier. The fashion industry is presuming that Olivier Lapidus will alter Lanvin to the present and we’re looking forward for his upcoming collections.
