Macdonald for McDonald’s

For people who want to be stylish even with their food, Julien Macdonald crated hamburger boxes for the fast-food chain McDonald’s.

For a long time McDonald’s was trying to renew its brand image and last week Julien MacDonald announced the collaboration. Having almost the same name as McDonald’s, Julien Macdonald designed exclusive baroque inspired hamburger boxes. Made for the new gourmet hamburger series launch, these boxes will be showcased in special events across the United Kingdom.

Embellished with baroque styles and gold touches these boxes are Julien Macdonal’s signature glittery designs. “I drew inspiration from my fashion creations and iconic embellished red-carpet dresses. This was translated into a gold, baroque, crystal-encrusted box, which is the perfect packaging for the luxury McDonald’s collection,” says the designer about these exclusive boxes. The hand crafted box by Julien Macdonald will be showcased and auctioned in the Leicester Square restaurant of McDonald’s and the proceeds will go to the Ronal McDonald House Charities.

“This is our first-ever U.K. packaging collaboration, it’s a brave move and it’s like nothing we’ve ever done before,” said Emily Somers, vice president of marketing at McDonald’s. The brand believes this is a perfect way to showcase the new line of gourmet burgers.
