Stockholm Fashion Week

The true essence of Swedish fashion is minimalist and simple clothing with a high trend factor. In this season’s Stockholm Fashion Week the minimalism factor has been kept yet it is used in a maximalist way. Minimalist designs are combined with contrasting fabrics and designs to create striking looks.

Mix and match being a prominent trend on the catwalks, visitors have also been seen wearing multiple patterns and asymmetric cuts on the street. Guests put on their own runway shows outside of the event as bold colours and ruffles were dominant in street styles.

Spring season is about pastel and soft colours yet Stockholm Fashion Week took a different turn with bold colours and a lot of blacks. Björn Borg showcased high fashion black athleisure combinations, while Stylein showed a traditional Swedish minimalism with their monotone looks.

Mismatch was the highlight of Spring/summer 2018 season as brands like Valerie and Stand portrayed a mix of contrasting patterns and colours. Blend as much dissimilar fabrics and textures as you can because the upcoming season is about having fun!
