Mansur Gavriel new LA store

It seems just about right that things should be going well for the female fashion duo, Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel of New York-based Mansur Gavriel. The two introduced their perfectly soft pastel shoes and minimal accessories to the world a mere 5 years ago, just before the millennial pink wave hit our Instagram feeds, so its rapid popularity was inevitable.. The last year hasn’t just been the year for pink, it’s been a year for them too – first opening a pop up in October 2016 on Madison Avenue, then a permanent store in SoHo, and now a West Coast store, at 8475 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Not only this, the brand also showcased their very first Ready-to-Wear collection this fall at New York Fashion Week as part of a See Now Buy Now model.

The new store is a 1,300 square foot space that is classically LA in design; exposed beams, an internal roofless garden with a pond, flower shop and an indoor/outdoor café. It will be compromised of two main rooms; one for RTW and accessories, the other for an eclectic mix of furniture, ceramics and homeware pieces. Their LA story goes way back to 2010, as the place where the pair met, so it seemed like an obvious place to open a store. The city is also the brand's second biggest market after New York and a big source of inspiration; 'LA was definitely an early inspiration: the nature, the architecture, food, textures and colours' said Mansur. The store is expected to be open next month.
