The royal wedding between the prince Harry, 33 years old, and Meghan Markle, 36 years old was celebrated today in the Chapel of St. George at Windsor Castle. The couple were officially appointed Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Six bridesmaids and four pages including Prince George (William's eldest son, witness of the groom), together with his little sister Charlotte. The newlyweds directly chose the children. Two pageboy and a damsel are the children of Jessica Mulroney, the best friend of Meghan when she lived in Toronto. For the bride this is her second marriage even if the first one was only civil. She arrived by car accompanied by her mother, Doria Ragland (Thomas Markle did not attend the wedding because of the scandal with the paparazzi and health problems) and entered the church alone, then accompanied in the last stretch by Prince Charles.
Uniform and well-groomed beard for Harry and a very elegant Meghan in a dress by Clare Waight Keller; tiara of 1932 that belonged to the Queen Mary, a romantic hairstyle with a very long and finely embroidered veil.
The guests in the church were 600; various celebrities including Beckham, Clooney, Elton John, Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, Idris Elba, Oprah Winfrey, James Blunt and no political leader.
Dress code for guests not too restrictive and in line with an elegant and respectful marriage of many traditions but still modern: Tight for men or uniform; mandatory hat or fascinator for women, dress in length not above the knee but not too much long, in pastel colors and preferably not lit to not tarnish the bride. Rules that someone does not always respect, thus obtaining the favor of paparazzi and journalists, such as in this case for Amal Clooney and his rather flashy canary yellow dress. No surprise, however, for the bride's girlfriends actresses, who demonstrated their experience in events and red carpets with dresses in delicate fabrics and sober colors.
Regarding gifts for the bride and groom there was not a wedding list, but a list of seven charities chosen by Harry and Meghan and who know well personally, especially operating in Africa.
The festivities will continue at the end of the classic carriage ride to greet the crowd. There will be the first official banquet and the celebrations will come back tonight with a second reception offered by Prince Charles.
