An unusual collaboration between the French designer and an American lifestyle brand brings forth
a capsule collection of casual nylon bags, with Elbaz’ signature, joyful illustrations. Dancing girls,
words like ‘chic’, ’I had the same dress last season’ and ‘you look divine’ are all vividly present in a
scope of colours like red, blue and black.
After designer’s very much talked about exit from the fashion house Lanvin back in 2015, where he
held the reign of creative direction for 14 years, Elbaz surfaced with a fragrance collaboration and
one time partnership with Converse.
Supposedly the playful bags celebrate women and the designer was once again looking for ‘some
lightness in life’. The target for the accessories is questionable, but there will be an official party on
September 5th during New York Fashion Week, and so we patiently wait to see which muses will
dare to strut the stuff.
The accessories come in affordable price range from $30-190, are water resistant and display
models like weekenders, cosmetic cases, cross bodies, totes, and backpacks.
The Alber Elbaz x LeSportsac collection will be available online at lesportsac.com from August 15.
Humour in tact, Alber Elbaz seems to enjoy the light-hearted side of fashion industry indeed.
