Suzanne Koller is one of the most influential fashion stylist of the industry. She is the cofounder and fashion director of magazine Self-Service created in 1995, in association with Ezra Petronio, her then husband. The magazine was initially centered around music, but quite naturally Koller turned herself into fashion styling. She and Petronio cofounded their consulting agency « Petronio » in 1993 (focused on the fashion and beauty industries). Koller does the advertising for fashion brands or perfume brands. They have worked with Chanel, Miu-Miu, Prada on their digital identities.
In 2014, she was appointed French Vogue’s fashion director. Her first foot in fashion was actually with an internship at the French Elle, that’s how she made it to Paris. She studied Graphic Design in Geneva. In February 2017, Koller joins the weekly supplement M Le Monde as a fashion director. She has worked on editorials with the biggest names of photography : Glen Luchford, David Sims, Harley Weir, and Jamie Hawkesworth.
Her style can be described as timeless and elegant, with minimalist and vintage edges. A fervent lover of the Parisian makeup look, models styled by her are often wearing natural makeups or a statement red lip. «I really like to show the character of the woman, that’s most important for me about the image” - she says - “That’s what makes the image timeless when you’re looking at her".
She has been working for 20 years in fashion, she came out this year with a book with pictures summing up her career as a fashion stylist. The book is called «Red lips, Attitudes and Other Obsessions». Ezra Pretronio and Suzanne Koller made it to the BOF 500 most influent people in fashion.
