Emma Watson: the violence against women

Emma Watson, at the beginning of August, helped launch a line of legal advice for people experiencing sexual harassment working in UK. In her statement we could find words of hope for the future to reflect on.

“Who needs two minutes of hope today? Probably all of us, haha” she wrote on her Instagram account posting a few minutes of the meeting's video.

The central theme was violence against women in various fields, and why we should no longer accept this as an established fact that is part of our world. We must react and face the problem once and for all: "I think there’s a sort of strange acceptance as women that not feeling safe, not being completely safe in our societies and our communities is just a fact of life and it’s something we have to accept" she said. "That’s just the way of the world. It’s dangerous to be a woman. But I don’t think that we do have to accept that."

Various celebrities have shown their support for her awareness campaign.

She continued: "I think there are other ways we could live and be. And beyond that, I think we deserve it, we have to demand it, we have to believe it is possible. We must believe in that world, it cannot be a utopia".

Let us try now so that these two minutes of hope that Emma gave us are not really just a speech.
