Global Change Award: the fifth edition kicks off

With the aim of implementing new solutions and creative ideas for a more sustainable fashion development, the H&M Foundation inaugurates the start of the fifth edition of the Global Change Award, the annual competition established in 2015 and organized in collaboration with Accenture and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

“I like that Global Change Award encourages creative out of the box innovative solutions from innovators all over the world, by giving a voice, a platform and the tools for young change agents to develop truly circular projects, where their ideas can thrive." stated member of Expert Panel of Global Change Award Abrima Erwiah.

This year’s theme is circular fashion and the search for possible solutions that can further implement this sustainable system, such as digital programs that can work directly on the production chain. In support of young innovators, the H&M Foundation and its partners will ensure the access of winning projects in the market, so as to immediately test their impact in the industry.

“The next revolutionary idea capable of rewriting the industry rules could come from anyone anywhere in the world. Therefore, if you have an idea you believe in, this is the right chance to propose it” explains Karl-Johan Persson, member of the Board of Directors of H&M Foundation and CEO of H&M Hennes&Mauritz AB.

The deadline to deliver the project is 16 October 2019 and the 5 selected winners will be awarded in Stockholm in April 2020. Amongst the prizes not only an amount of up to one million euro but also the opportunity to participate in the annual program “Innovation Accelerator Program”, which will stop in Stockholm, New York and Hong Kong.
