Inspired by the Maison’s archives, the new 1955 Horsebit bag collection designed by Alessandro Michele combines past and present through the re-elaboration of the brands’ distinctive traits in a modern point of view. The collection has been first presented at the Gucci Cruise 2020, where the fundamental theme was a hymn to freedom of self-expression, represented through a provocative symbolism, as the embroidered uterus on a draped dress or the 70s slogan “My body my choice” on the back of a yellow t-shirt with the logo CHIME FOR CHANGE designed by artist MP5.
The collection recalls the typical lines and shapes of the bag first designed six decades ago, as the double ring and bar inspired by the equestrian world that has become one of the most distinctive elements in Gucci’s DNA. To further embellish the bag the monochromatic fabric and an innovative technology used to regulate the length of the shoulder strap. This precious vintage piece is comfortable and versatile, being portable both on one shoulder and cross-body.
The GG canvas model will be available online starting from the 8 th of August 2019, whereas the rest of the collection will be available in store and online starting from October 2019.
