Florentine fashion house presents the new limited-edition photographic book curated by film-maker
and screenwriter Harmony Korine. Famous for many movies like the 1997 film Gummo, Korine
proposes different pictures of Pre-Fall 2019 collection, using as a set the wonderful scenarios of
roman cities Pompei and Herculaneum.
If the intimate connection between the new face of the brand curated by roman designer Alessandro
Michele and the old ruins and myths of ancient times wasn’t clear enough, this book will clear up
any doubts. The link between the past’s symbols and motives with the brand’s contemporary
clothes is indeed what nowadays makes Gucci unique in the world, which shows not only the
creative excellence of the designer but also it spreads a crucial message about the importance of the
past in shaping the future.
This interesting project shows even further Gucci’s interest in communicating the eclectic spirit and
the multiple facades of Florentine fashion house, and at the same time the importance of cultural
and historical sites in the world.
The book will be available at the Gucci Garden in Florence and at the Gucci Wooster Bookstore in
New York in the beginning of June.
