A fairytale collection, the Haute Couture one by Armani Privé for the next autumn winter. Worthy of a princess, in the true sense of the word. But one that’s modern, because wide skirts and layers of tulle match always a masculine and rigorous attire, in jackets for instance. Those are, together with accessories, reminders of a certain Oriental taste, signature feature of Armani’s production through the last 30 years and more.
The collection is a on going dialogue between black, soft and voluptuous, extremely enveloping, and pastel colours such as baby blue, pink and a very light mint green. The same alternance is in the fabrics, which mix together different textures and create enjoyable contrasts, where eyes have to sink in order to be satiated. The polished satin surface meet tulle, velvet and fur, that wraps the naked body with a very sensual effect, with no great effort showed.
Armani’s imaginary is made of stratification of knowledges and various influences, between tradition, innovation and cultural meeting. The dresses from the haute couture collection are in the same way layered, and elegant underskirt emerge from superior layers of tulle and net. Seeing through, because the real beauty and elegance - Armani being the quintessence of it, here demonstrated once again - always are the result of a stratification. To fully understand it, the audience shall be willing to go deep into it.
