Nobody makes minimal so desirable as Jil Sander does. Nobody offers such simple and intense lines, rich fabrics and rich textures, rigorous and precious details - such as belts, whose buckle is simply a gold-plated mini sphere.
What symbolizes perfection better than a circle after all. The synthesis is the great merit of the Meier, wife and husband that are the creative mind of the brand.
Synthesis that comes as the final conquest, after years of study, inspiration and attempts. Now their styles are balanced and harmonious, the result of a serene negotiation, like the one between Yin and Yang.
The collection is dominated by black and white, interrupted by some tones of beige, peach and bottle green. The shapes are so rigid and definite, but some cuts come directly from the female wardrobe and that infuse sweetness to the whole. It is the case of the sweetheart neckline, on the first two dresses of the collection, which recall the necklines of certain lady corsets. Or the laser-cut embroideries of the latest outfits, which draw stylized flowers on black and white. Bags and boots are lovely, intense jewels make you think about a princess from the future.
At the end of the collection you need each outfit. But there are a couple of really desirable pieces in our opinion. The first is the long gilded dress, which is simply beautiful: it has a classic cut - where by classic we mean the ancient world - and it is sculptural in its simplicity. The second is the curled-up trench coat with a boat neck, a gem that, together with the golden chain choker, will be a cult piece for next season.
