For the second year, Luisaviaroma, the historic Florentine brand, organized a gala evening with UNICEF which was held on August 9 in Porto Cervo, one of the most exclusive locations in Sardinia. The Florentine luxury brand has spent about 3 million euros in organizing the event, aimed at supporting the United Nations Fund for the care and protection of needy children around the world.
Part of the revenue was obtained from the sale of the tables, which amounted to 3, 6 and 10 thousand euros, another important portion was obtained from the sale of special lots, including works of art such as Composition of 1974 by Mirò, L'Homme Assis by Picasso dating back to 1918, the 1985 Track #370 by Andy Warhol, Watermelon by Ai Weiwei in 2006 and many others.
Among the guests of the evening, there were some famous names of the luxury world as Leonardo Del Vecchio, founder of Luxottica, Remo Ruffini of Moncler and also some celebrities including Ellie Goulding, Adriana Lima, Austin Butler, Adrien Brody and Dame Shirley Bassey.
“We do a detailed screening on the companies that help us, and we thank Luisaviaroma for the great support.” Andrea Iacomini, spokesman for Unicef Italia stated. “The summer gala is an event with a global reach and is the first in Italy of this dimension. Unicef will use the proceeds for doses of vaccines, for school folders and to fight children’s malnutrition”.
