Marni goes to the moon for Salone del Mobile 2019

For the 2019 edition of Salone del Mobile, Marni will present a collection dedicated to stellar

themes, Marni Moon Walk. At the centre of this celebration there is the universe and in particular

the Moon, following a huge trend but translating it in futuristic terms.

The path is conceived as a sensorial adventure in Marni’s universe, made of sharp creations that

evoke a primitive essence, immersed in an extra-terrestrial atmosphere. A demonstration of this

project can be seen through the tribal aliens, the astronaut-shaped sculptures and the animal-shaped ones made of foil and decorated at hand, emerging from the cold lunar landscape.

All the objects have been made by the Columbian artisans that have worked for Marni for a long

time and even because of this have been capable of communicating the typical traits of the house

through innovative designs that seems to keep at their core Marni’s uniqueness.

The futuristic theme is the background for these primitive-shaped objects, such as the benches and

stools with a tribal-sculpted seatback carved from wood and calf hair. The exposition goes on by

presenting some cushions and carpets characterized by vivid tones contrasting with the bare lunar

ground.

In this edition as well as the old ones, the brand has proposed again some objects with coloured and

metal PVC material (polyvinyl chloride), this time used to create chaise longue, couches and chairs.

The space shuttle-shaped lamps add a more creative touch.

For this 2019 edition, Marni will use the money earned from the exhibition to finance the Heal

Onlus association, in particular the project “Future Brain”, in support of the children hospitalized in the department of pediatric neuro-oncology of Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù in Rome.

The exhibition will be available from the 11th to the 14th of April 2019.
