The woman proposed by Fendi for Spring Summer 2020 is cheerful and carefree: this collection, showcased on the third day of Milan Fashion Week, is Silvia Venturini Fendi’s debut as head of women’s ready-to-wear, after Karl Lagerfeld’s passing last February.

Silvia Venturini Fendi reinterprets the aesthetics of the brand from a different, warmer perspective.

The models walked on a non-elevated catwalk, with the sun rising in the back: these details surely mean something, as they symbolize the passage to a new era, with Silvia at the helm together with her team.

The collection is inspired by the summer and the state of carefreeness and relax it usually brings: yellow and, in general, earth tones were the prevalent colours. Green and pink floral prints give touches of bright colors, and of course, there are some white pieces as well, as white is surely evocative of the summer season. Moreover, the check prints are preponderant.

It’s also interesting to see the contrast caused by the extensive use of quilted pieces, for the cooler evenings of the spring season. Several looks were paired with shoulder bags evocative of the Nineties, which will for sure be a must next season.

The designer certainly thought about comfort and practicality as well, as she stated: «I want women to feel natural and good in these clothes».
