Argentina was Sara Cavazza Facchini’s inspiration to create Genny’s Spring Summer 2020 collection: «For this collection, I was inspired by Argentina- the designer explains in the backstage of the show, which happened on the third day of Milan Fashion Week -. I wanted to recreate this sense of freedom and contact with nature with light fabrics such as linen, raffia, and perforated silk». And again: «I wanted freedom, I imagined a woman running on horseback, who stays in touch with nature. I had read a book that conveyed to me the feeling of this woman who runs in expanses of wheat and alfalfa, with her hair in the wind».

The collection shows the colors of the earth, and the use of green stands out. The designer herself confirmed that she was inspired by the colors of the spices of the South American continent: turmeric, paprika, chili, nutmeg, and black and white pepper.

The inspiration also comes from the gaucho style and it can be seen in the presence of ponchos and fringes; several looks were then paired with maxi-sombreros. However, there are plenty of proposals for elegant jumpsuits and suits that pair blazers with loose pants. Proposals for the evening include sinuous dresses with an ethereal look.

The woman imagined by Genny for this season is therefore certainly elegant and adventurous.

Here all looks of the show:
