Helmut Lang thinks about the future as a blank space to fill. Shapes are minimal, colours are cold and very light but a touch of neon at the end of the show. Fabrics give movement to the scene but they are soft to touch and to sight.
It's a gentle futuristic landscape after all, with a work-wear appeal that feels fresh and natural. Aside of military green and powder baby blue we find a space age imaginary, in silver pants and leather jacket.
The final combination is a good one, minimal and fanciful at the same time. We shall remember it for the next Spring Summer season. We'll find again transparencies and see-through for instance, in sunglasses too, that have pastel tones and the classic aviator shape. It also proposes a more futuristic shape, which reminds us of The Matrix and invites us for an intergalactic journey all set in our own mind.
Shoes are minimal too. Combat Boots for a walk on the moon surface or listed sandals, so elegant because of their lightness (close to inexistent) on the feet: a sort of jewels that follows the natural shape and reinforces it.
