The two creatives behind Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, took inspiration from their master and father of the brand, de la Renta, and especially from his private roots in the Dominica Republic. The new Spring Summer 2020 collection comes from the landscape, the fragrances and the culture of this very peculiar country. It envelops the spectator in a multi sensorial experience, created by the materiality of the clothes.

Outfits are all sensual and they stimulate both sight and touch, but also smell and hears because of the untouched natural landscape they create.

Fabrics and colours are the main protagonists of this magic, but accessories and make up do their part as well.

We're particularly thinking about fringes, patterns and, in the last part of the collection, the natural raw fabric in beige. We find kaftan and maxi dresses but also light suits to stay fresh during the day; then they also put on stage some very short cocktail dresses, matched with listed sandals for a final super sexy summer-ish look.

A special collection and a bright imaginary that starts in the city of Santo Domingo and develops into a proper state of mind. The show was a peacefully oasis in the middle of the sultry New York.
