In occasion of New York Fashion Week, the brand Tibi also showcased its SS2020 collection.

The show, which took place in The Times Building in Midtown Manhattan, showcased a collection

dedicated to a kind of woman who is bold in her way of dressing, but that at the same time cares about wearability. The looks of the collection are indeed a compromise between an excessively contrived style and an excessively basic one: « If there isn’t something a little strange, our customer doesn’t want it», said Amy Smilovich, Tibi’s founder and creative director, in an interview with Vogue.

Silhouettes are the strength of this collection: in particular, curved-shoulder blazers were very innovative, and the pants that were structured but at the same time rich in volume and with curved legs. Similar versions of these pants were seen at other New York runways, so they will probably be very popular next season.

Bold choices were made on the styling of the looks: for example, the opening look was a curved-shoulder blazer paired with peach nylon cargo pants. The satin trench coat with safari shorts look is also interesting.

In conclusion, this collection, compared to the ones of the last seasons, has a general tendency towards less structured lines and is sensitive to the wearability of the pieces.
