"PFW: Givenchy SS20"

The Givenchy's collections are always surprising, because they are the final result of a perfect balance between rigor and exuberance. Certainly due to the cultural background of the designer Clare Waight Keller who is now influenced by the Parisian atmosphere, couture-ish and romanticism, but until a couple of decades ago (when she worked for Calvin Klein) she breathed New York air. And, you know, New York is the most sober capital of the Fashion system, where everything is clean and essential (except jewels!) And women on the streets are super chic without being extravagant. Just take a look at street styles to notice.

Power suits alternate with delicate floral dresses and there is no lack of colors. There is also a lot of denim, which comes directly from the 90s: recycling and reuse is very important for the designer, and the beauty of these garments brings everyone together.

It is overall a very beautiful and fresh collection, with simple but not trivial lines, light and bright colors and it is easily wearable. Many garments will soon become must haves, we are sure.
