Salvatore Ferragamo's Pre Fall 2020 brings to my mind the sunny landscapes of southern Italy, where summer is alway prolonged and leaves a languid trail until late autumn.
It is an extremely light collection, in materials, colours and combinations. White and beige alternate cobalt blue, very bright and beautiful on the short suit. The accessories are no less: shoes and bags made of the highest quality leather, the prerogative of the Florentine fashion house, are so light that they seem to be made for a long car trip on the Mediterranean coast.
Denim meets tailoring, women's and men's wardrobes meet once again and almost make one think of the freshness of this first encounter in the 1920s, when the revolution began and girls began looking into their lovers' closet, stealing shirts and scarves to wear themselves. In the same way, everything is casual in Salvatore Ferragamo's collection: sunny landscapes, light colors, wind and sun, seem to be the stylistic codes of the Italian essence, which is celebrated here in an extremely delicate way. Formality and classicism are in the DNA, do not require any effort and are so fresh precisely because they're effortless.
