Nominated in 1965 as creative director, Karl Lagerfeld became an icon for Fendi and for fashion industry in general. From that moment the relationship between Karl and Fendi became indissoluble. The fashion world's icon has in fact supervised the collections of the Italian maison until his death on February 19th.
But the "Love Karl" message, inspired by the designer's famous calligraphy accompanied by some
t-shirts during the last Fendi fashion show, is not meant to be the last memory for the visionary creative director.
Karl’s immense culture and his ability to rejuvenate at all times is an enormous heritage for the fashion industry. In fact, decided at the LVMH annual general meeting, Fendi will organize on 4 July a high fashion show in Rome, in homage to Karl Lagerfeld.
"We had to face the great sadness of Karl's loss, who was the soul of this maison. It was probably the longest relationship between a fashion house and a designer. In July we will organize a fashion show in Rome in homage to Karl taking up the his time at Fendi ", explained Arnault.
The 50-year collaboration has left an indelible mark that will continue to influence people for years.
The show-event will be organized by the brand's creative team with Silvia Venturini Fendi and will be held in Piazza di Spagna, where Fendi also celebrated its first 90 years.
The event will resume all the most sprawling and iconic garments made by Kaiser Karl that, afterwards, will be showed in Rome as a real art exhibition.
